ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Ryan Wakeford and I am a Computer Games (Software Development) graduate from Southampton Solent University.

Ever since I was young I have always loved playing video games. I started playing video games with my father on a Sega Mega Drive when we would sit and play Cosmic Spacehead together, both trying to figure out the puzzles that game had to offer. After that, my interest in video games never ceased, moving on to getting a Nintendo 64 with Super Mario 64, a PlayStation 1 console with titles like Bomberman World and Crash Bandicoot and it just continued from there.

I was unsure as to why I loved video games so much, but it was something that I couldn't help. Maybe it was my love for puzzle solving, or the sense of accomplishment when I finally managed to complete the troublesome level that has been taunting me for the past few gaming sessions.

Nowadays, I am still an avid video game player but my interest has blossomed into a desire to create worlds in which others can find hours of entertainment, just as I have done. My main focus and passion in video game programming is AI, but have recently started to dabble in other gameplay features.

On top of video gaming, my other interests include travelling and seeing the world and photography (mainly landscape and nature based). When I am not busying myself with coding and video game development, I like to do the classic sing like no one is listening and dance like no one is watching ploy, play video games, alone or with friends, or just settle down to watch a film or television series.

Eventually, I hope to fulfil my aspirations of joining a AAA games development company, having my chance at being a member of a team that makes truly remarkable, inspirational games and, if the opportunity arose, move abroad to continue to further myself in the game development field.
